KAP is known for its significant anti-depressive properties and its enduring ability to transform and heal symptoms of long term mental health challenges and psychological problems. About
KAP Center (Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy)
Our KAP Center was established at Lake City Hospital in 2018 as Soma Living Roots, and ever since we have been working towards its therapeutic potential whilst synergistically combining it with a personally curated psychotherapy that suits you.
Clinical Neuropsychologist & Scientific researcher, Dr. Varsha Dutta Pujari is highly specialized in Ketamine assisted Psychedelic psychotherapy and is known for her scientific research and expertise with cancer patients for the same.
She took the first step towards making KAP accessible to people with TRD(treatment-resistant depression) in 2018 and has ever since successfully used it for an array of psychological disorders that include:
- Treatment-resistant depression with/without suicidal behavior
- Depression with Severe Anxiety
- Anxiety Disorders
- Bipolar disorder
- Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
- Alcohol & and Substance dependence
- Depression and pain in cancer and other medical conditions
Clinical Research with KAP
We have successfully completed our ongoing clinical research study on the effective use of KAP therapy in advanced stage cancer patients with severe forms of anxiety and depression (publication in process)
In the process we have learnt that the most effective way to facilitate a holistic healing experience is to understand KAP’s restorative properties in the personalized context, because it is only then that therapy can be directed in accordance with the person’s need to achieve its transformative potential.
PPP (Personalized Psychotherapeutic Process)
Ours is a carefully curated PPP (Personalized Psychotherapeutic Process) that is aimed at preparing you for your KAP journey with the initial Preparatory Psychotherapy sessions while we support and help you explore yourself during the KAP sessions, and guide you in integrating your experiences afterward.
OUR PPP PROCESS INVOLVES:
- PREPARATORY PSYCHOTHERAPY
- ANXIOLYSIS WITH SOUND BATH & BREATHWORK
- THE KAP SESSIONS
- PSYCHOINTEGRATION
TREATMENT TEAM
Our treatment team is highly specialized in the KAP process and consists of a clinical neuropsychologist, physician, anesthesiologist, and our head nurse. Our treatment team adheres to the set setting protocol of psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy (PAP) and follows the patient through the entire experiential process of the therapy time which usually lasts for 7-8 hours, and this includes working with the patient before and after the KAP therapy to ensure that the treatment can be best utilized and integrated back into their long-term goals and choices.
Our KAP treatment modalities have been ethically cleared, are evidence-based, and existentially centered and transpersonal in nature.
SLR has been involved in Developing and Curating a KAP protocol that includes
- Comprehensive Clinical & Psychological Evaluation
- Preparatory Psychotherapy (with a focus on relational and inter-generational trauma through existential depth therapy)
- Comprehensive Clinical Examination including blood tests & ECG
- Anxiolytic therapy with Sound bath&Breath work
- Individualized Dose Protocol
Psycho-integration (with a focus on the phenomenology (subjective experience) of the person from a transpersonal & existential depth therapy approach
Our KAP suite is designed to make patients feel comfortable and at ease within its ambience that keenly takes into account the ‘set’ and ‘setting’ component of any psychedelic assisted psychotherapy protocol.
Our extended preparatory psychotherapy is an example of this where the healing elements of Sound Bath is introduced before the exploratory journey of KAP begins.
KETAMINE ASSISTED PSYCHOTHERAPY CLINIC
WHAT IS ΚΕΤΑΜΙΝΕ?
HOW DOES KETAMINE WORK?
Ketamine works by modulating glutamate, an important neurotransmitter in the brain. It influences the brain’s neuroplasticity and helps establish new neural connections, leading to improved mood and alleviation of symptoms. Ketamine is administered under the supervision of trained healthcare professionals in a controlled setting, ensuring safety and optimal outcomes.
At Lakecity Hospital’s Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy Clinic, our experienced team of mental health professionals integrates ketamine with evidence-based psychotherapy techniques to enhance the therapeutic benefits. We provide a safe and supportive environment for patients seeking alternative treatments for their mental health conditions.
